Telescan maintains a 24- hour 7 day/week analysis service with toll-free calling.
Skilled technologists are available who can recognize serious arrhythmias or other
conditions which may require immediate attention.
Telescan personnel provide inservice training to all enrolled patients by telephone.
The patients are instructed in recording methods which will produce the best ECG tracing
appropriate to their symptoms. A baseline recording is taken at this time.
Patients may call and transmit symptomatic recordings at any time for a 30-day period ,
or as requested by the ordering physician. Each transmission is processed and generates a
hard-copy report documented with:
- Patient and Doctors names
- Patient identification number
- Date, time of recording and symptoms
- Measurements of:
- All cardiac cycle durations (R-R intervals)
- Averaged ECG complex
- PR, QRS, and QT intervals
- Heart Rate average and range
Loop-Memory reports include single-page full-disclosure print-out of the entire 3 minute
memory in addition to the detailed report described above.
Reports are processed when received and copies sent by FAX to the ordering physician.
Report copies are maintained by Telescan so that duplicates are available in event of loss or
damage.
In emergency situations or if requested, the ordering physician may be contacted by telephone and a
verbal report given by the technician.
